Four Dimensional Poetry

What I am presenting here, for the first time, is what I call Four Dimensional Poetry. Like visual poetry, 4D Poetry is a new format for poetic expression, which allows the user to utilize the implicit ontological dynamics of 4D geometry to express movements, longings and connections between ideas which require a more profound form of expression. I formulated the concept of 4D Poetry by applying the method of text merging with text to create (or fit within) the visual impression of a third object.
The Metaphor
The first poem which I constructed, although not a conventional word square, is made-up of two poems intersecting, using the same letters. The title of this poem is The Metaphor, as one poem could be a metaphor for the other. And, like the tesseract’s cube within a cube, bringing these two poems together may create for the reader an experiential thought or space which is higher than one poem or plane, alone.
Oneself
And this is the power of 4D Poetry, the shape of the poem can give a structure for the expression of the writer’s thoughts, and can act as a template for the input of individual ideas. When put together in a format such as that used for The Metaphor (which, for this application, I call a Banck Box, in honour of my family and its legacy) these ideas may paint a picture which the writer may have subconsciously crafted, but not consciously intended – like a linguistic Rorschach test. 4D Poetry may also be able to act as a map for the reader, used to interpret the ideas expressed in the poem. This informational map making, in a sense, is perhaps the science of the future, as humanity becomes more aware of itself and its reality, and may desire to know and engage landscapes of thought more purposefully. Just as humanity has learned to navigate and use landscapes of information in the digital world, methodologies of detection and exploration for information mapping may aid in both self-awareness and the development of more comprehensive sciences – such as the emergent quantum computing of today. Such templates for the expression of thought can also give writers the tools to build more complex concepts, or to express thoughts which, before, they may have known intuitively, but may not have been able to accurately express in a merely linear format.
The Harlot
4D Poetry is a methodology designed to empower writers to express what was previously ineffable, and to enhance the experience of readers, so that they may grasp what was previously only tacit. It is the means by which a dream can be manifested and communicated with others, not merely as a description, but within a structure representative of the dimensionality in which we experience life.
